— Things To Do For The Over 50’s, 60’s 70’s And Yes, Even 80’s This Summer! As the clouds disappear and the sun peeks its head out a little more we should all embrace our warmer months and make the best possible use of them. So here are two great events for the over 50’s to attend this summer. Summer really is here and what better way to celebrate the sunshine than at the Innocent Village Fete that is being held on the 2nd and 3rd of August at Gloucester Greens, Regents Park? Some of the festivities include tug o’ war, welly tossing, a tombola, a fancy dress competition, coconut shies as well as plenty of food and smoothies (naturally). So why not drive down with the family and go enjoy the day in the sun! Maybe you would like to do something a little more adventurous this summer though, maybe you feel like hitting the open road (remember to ensure your motor insurance for over 60’s is up to date beforehand though), then you should head south for the London to Bristol Veteran Car Run. This is the showpiece of the Royal Automobile Club’s calendar and it is also the world’s longest running motoring event! Entrants come from all over the world to show off their beautiful vintage cars and it gives these car owners a rare opportunity to do such a wonderful 60-mile run. The drive is from Hyde Park all the way to Brighton. This is a great chance to rally the troops, pile into the Renault from 1901 and head down south to the beachfront! Before you leave though make sure that your motor insurance for over 70’s is in order and you have sufficient cover for your vintage vehicle! So there are two great ideas for some summer entertainment and there really is nothing better than spending the sunshine months outside with some friends and family, just make sure that an unforeseen incident doesn’t ruin it, so be sure to double check your motor insurance for over 50’s.
